1. What kind of books do you write?
I write mostly historical romances. Most of them are historical westerns, but I am branching out into Regencies. I also have a few contemporaries. I focus on the marital relationship between a husband and wife.
Please refer to my Romance Books page for more information.
2. Do your books have sex in them?
All of my romance have sex in them, except for A Bride for Tom, Romancing Adrienne, and the short story The Cowboy’s Wish.
3. Why do you put sex in your books?
I add sex if I feel it enhances the relationship between the hero and heroine. No two books are alike. If the characters need more sex or greater description to add to their relationship, I’ll do it. If they don’t need more details, I leave them out. I go with whatever feels right for each book. But overall, I prefer two to three sex scenes per 70,000 word book and greater description. If that’s not what you’re looking for, then I suggest you find an author who writes at a heat level you are happy with. ![]()
4. Are all sex scenes after marriage?
Yes.

I enjoy reading and also writing stories like yours, and would be hesitant to squander my time reading “smut” books from other authors. There is a place for authors like you, and I wish the world demanded more of the type of books you and I write.
Thanks, Rick. I started writing romances because I had a hard time finding books that I wanted to read. The publishers’ standard of romance is different from my own, and I’ve talked to enough traditionally published romance authors to understand the pressure from the publishers can be pretty intense and they ended up compromising what they wanted to write in favor of the contract. I figured early on that no matter what happened, I would stay my course. That’s why self-publishing was my first choice.
I have to admit that you are quickly becoming one of my faviorate authors. Not only do you have the old fashioned morals in your books, but you also intertwine your characters into other books.it is fun to be reading a book and one of the characters from a previous book show up suddenly. I personally feel like it is good to see them again! thanks for being willing to write clean, moral, and fun books. also thank you for keeping the swear words out of the books!
Thanks, Naomi! I’m really happy to hear you like the kind of books I write. It helps when I know there are people who are looking for what I do.
Finding a way to put characters from one book (or even a series) into another is so much fun. I used to feel sad whenever I finished a story because I felt that I’d never see the characters again, but once I realized I could bring them to another book, I realized I didn’t have to say good-bye. As much as I like ending their story on a “happily ever after” note, I like to see how their happy ending still continues.
